MHK Chili Cook-Off

Young Trustees 6th Annual Chili Cook-Off! Come try over 25 different chili recipes/samples while watching the away Kansas State @ Texas game on a 15 ft jumbotron outside of Rockin K's @ KSU Foundation Park (1880 Kimball Ave.). All proceeds and prize money are donated across various non-profits in the Manhattan area as well as the Young Trustees of Manhattan. In 2022, over $18,000 was given away to 30 different non-profit organizations.

Our Mission

100% of all Chili Cook-off proceeds will go to local non-profits. The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation’s Young Trustees have organized this family-friendly event as a way for businesses and citizens to gather in support of our local non-profits.

Your participation as a sponsor, competitor, or by purchasing a ticket allows our organization to funnel thousands of dollars directly back into Manhattan’s needs. We are proud of this opportunity and thank you for participating in the 2023 Chili Cook-off!

Our Impact

In the first four years of the MHK Chili Cook-Off, more than $68,000 was raised and distributed to non-profit organizations. Over 30 non-profits have benefitted annually from funds raised by this event.

Last year in 2022, over $18,000 was raised and distributed to 31 non-profit organizations.

We hope for continued growth as we enter our 6th year of the Chili-Cookoff in 2023.

This event is so special to the Young Trustees because it allows us to be directly transparent in our fundraising to benefit our community. Our impact is continuing to grow, which makes us so excited to see how this event will benefit even more nonprofit organizations in Manhattan this year!

.5K Race

Our .5K race around Rockin K's, located at 1880 Kimball Ave STE 100, is something the whole family can enjoy!

I love that the money stays local to help out a charity hand picked by you. Tasting all of the chili is a blast. It is so fun to try all the varieties of chili, and fixings. There's such an encouraging environment, and having a beer garden afterwards makes it the best .5K race to participate in too.

Our Team

The young professionals of today are our leaders and philanthropists of tomorrow. That is why GMCF formed the Young Trustees program to educate these young people about philanthropy and how it impacts the lives of others around us.
